The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans recommend that children and adolescents get one hour or more of physical activity each day, while adults should exercise for at least two hours and 30 minutes each week.9 In both cases, aerobic activity and muscle-strengthening or resistance exercise are important.9
