Maple Sausage Waffles

Waffle lovers - this recipe is for you. And it’s so convenient since cooked Jimmy Dean® Maple Flavor Pork Sausage is stirred into the batter before the waffles are cooked. You will never want to eat plain waffles again!

Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. Jimmy Dean® Maple Flavor Pork Sausage Roll
  • Vegetable oil
  • 1 egg
  • 1-½ cups milk
  • 2 cups pancake mix
  • Maple syrup for serving

Directions

1. Cook sausage in large skillet over medium-high heat 8-10 minutes or until thoroughly cooked, stirring frequently; drain.

2. Preheat waffle iron; brush lightly with oil.

3. Beat egg, milk and 2 tablespoons oil in large bowl with wire whisk until well blended. Add pancake mix; stir just until blended. Stir in sausage. Let stand 5 minutes.

4. Pour desired amount of batter into hot waffle iron; close lid. Bake 3-5 minutes or until steaming stops.

5. Serve with syrup.

Cook’s Tip Since waffle irons vary in size, follow manufacturer’s directions for the amount of batter to use for each waffle.
