Quick Sausage Cheese Grits

Here's a quick and easy breakfast recipe that will fill you up with delicious Jimmy Dean® taste. Ready in less than 10 minutes, Jimmy Dean® Sausage and Grits is a tasty way to start your day.

Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. Regular Flavor Jimmy Dean® Pork Sausage, cooked, crumbled and drained
  • 8 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups quick cooking grits (not instant)
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 8 oz. (2 cups) shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
  • paprika (optional)

Directions

Heat water and salt to a boil in a 4-6 quart pot over medium-high heat. Slowly add grits, stirring constantly. Reduce heat to low; stir in garlic. Cover and simmer 5 to 7 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove grits from heat; stir in cooked sausage and cheese. Serve hot; garnish with paprika if desired.

Yield:

about 12 cups
