Sausage and Cheese Stuffed Jalapenos

Ready for an appetizer recipe that pops? How about one that calls for Jimmy DeanĀ® Pork Sausage stuffed inside jalapeno peppers? That's what we thought! Be careful, this appetizer is cranked up all the way to 11 on the spicy meter.

Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. Regular Flavor Jimmy DeanĀ® Pork Sausage, cooked, crumbled and drained
  • 1 pkg. (8 oz.) cream cheese, softened
  • 8 oz. (2 cups) shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 2 jars (24 oz. each) whole pickled jalapeno peppers, drained

Directions

In large bowl, mix sausage and cheeses until blended well. Wearing latex gloves, cut peppers in half, remove stem and seeds, drain well on paper towels. Preheat oven to 350 F. Roll sausage and cheese mixture into balls and press into jalapeno halves until slightly rounded. Bake on oven broiler pan 15 minutes, or until lightly browned. Allow to cool 5 minutes before removing from pan; serve warm.

Makes about 80-90 poppers, depending on jalapeno size
