DELICIOUSLY SIMPLE RECIPES.

Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. Jimmy Dean® Regular Flavor Pork Sausage Roll
  • 1/3 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1/3 cup chopped fresh basil
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped roasted peanuts
  • 1 tablespoon minced gingerroot
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 teaspoons Thai sweet red chili sauce (plus extra for serving, if desired)
  • ½ teaspoon crushed red pepper
  • 1 package (12 ounces) square wonton wrappers
  • Water

Directions

1. Combine all ingredients except wonton wrappers, water and oil in medium bowl; mix just until blended.

2. Place several wonton wrappers on work surface; brush edges lightly with water.

3. Spoon 1 tablespoon filling onto center of each wrapper; fold diagonally in half. Press edges together to seal. Cover filled wontons with damp towel to keep moist.

4. Heat 3 inches of oil in large saucepan, wok or deep fryer to 375°F. Add 4 or 5 wontons; cook 2 minutes or until done (160°F), turning after 1 minute.

5. Drain on paper towels. Serve with additional chili sauce, if desired.

Cook’s Tips To keep wontons warm after frying, arrange in single layer on baking sheet. Place in a 250°F oven until ready to serve.

Thai Sausage Balls: Mix sausage mixture as directed; shape into 1-inch balls. Place in lightly greased baking pan. Bake in a 375°F oven 14-16 minutes or until done (160°F). Serve hot with Thai sweet red chili sauce for dipping.
